St Patricks Day Parades in Louth
There are a number of parades taking place around Louth today for an annual St Patricks Day Festivities and the details are below :-
The parade starts at 1pm from the lower end of the town cia Clanbrassil Street, through to the square then around Crowe Street, Francis Street and up Part Street to conclude at the Tesco Shopping Centre. The Grand Marshall this year is Eve Mc Crystal and the theme for the parade is Team Dundalk.
The parade starts at 3:00pm from the Fair Green and the Grand Marshall is local Youth Leader Elizabeth Byrne who has been working with the Order Of Malta and the Ardee Girl Guides.
The parade starts at midday and the Grand Marshall is Brendan Fay who in a Drogehda Native who has campaigned for equal rights for the LGBTQ community. The theme is “Laurence Gate Goes Green” and a route map is available on www.droghedaparade.ie
The parade has been cancelled this year as a mark of respect for the family of Rescue 116 pilot Mark Duffy. Instead there will be a short candellit vigil at the Sundial on the MainStreet at 8:00pm
