Redundancy on offer at Paypal in Dundalk
A reconfiguration of internal processes at Paypal offices is thought to be the reason behind the offer of redundancy terms to employees at Dundalk and Dublin yesterday. The change will only affect 60 workers out of a Paypal staff of over 2600 between the two Irish sites. “I think its a direct result in the automation of some of some internal processes” a Paypal employee told LIR Radio. “Its normal for a company of this size especially a Tech company to be looking to innovate and streamline processes. Some people may end up back taking phone calls to customers and it might suit some other people especially in Dublin who have 10 years services to take the terms” the source continued. “People arent worried at this stage”. Paypal added 6 million new customers in and experienced 17% revenue growth in the first quarter of 2017 to $2.97 billion.
